Last year I came across Rand Fishin’s “Search Engine Ranking Factors” document where he talks about a large list of the factors that can influence a web document’s rank at the major search engines (Yahoo!, MSN, Google & AskJeeves) for a particular term or phrase. He solicited input from several people who are considered to be authorities on the subject of Search.

A week ago (4/2/07) Rand updated this document with expanded base of the leaders (37) “in the world of organic search engine optimization” who voted on what they believe are ranking factors in Google algorithm.
… although not every one of the estimated 200+ ranking elements are included, it is my opinion that 90-95% of the knowledge required about Google’s algorithm is contained below. - Rand Fishkin
On a lighter note, however every bit as true, after reading Rand’s V2 of the Ranking Factors I had a dream. Those who know me are familiar with many dreams I have with work-related subjects. In the dream Rand Fishkin visited with in my living room where we discussed the factors face to face. No, there was no revelation or confirmation from above which factors are Google confirmed. After all it was Rand in my dream, not Sergey or Larry :).

Always a pleasure to visit your site. I was intrigued by this post, because the subject is one of my favourites.
Also, I really liked the shot of the Easter cross at dusk. One of yours?
Great work all round.

Thank you David. Good to see you here. No, the cross picture is taken from http://www.thepassionofthechrist.com. I guess I should have put the right credits with it…
