Google Likes It Fresh …

cookies.jpgHow fresh is your website’s content? The search engine guru community is posing a theory that the latest Google algorithm(*) updates favor fresh content over well ranked websites which may not change that much.

To me, in short, I agree that updated content seems to be making a move, even against some the well-entrenched .gov and .edu TLDs. We are seeing some “refreshed” branded sites ranking very quickly for competitive terms. Chris Boggs in Does “Freshness” Mean More in Google?

I don’t blame Google, I like it fresh as well, especially the freshly baked cookies on Midwest Airlines!

* Google Algorithm is the way Google decides which pages are the most relevant to your search and therefore are placed towards the top of the search engine page results (SERP).
