This is no breaking news that Google dominates the search engine market share. Out of all of the search engines out there Google takes 63.9% of the traffic. This is reported by Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Land in his post today. The statistics are done by Hitwise, an industry authority on web traffic. This is how other search engines compare:
- Google 63.9%
- Yahoo 21.5%
- Live 8.8%
- Ask 3.5%
- AOL 0 .5%
- Others 1.8%
Other sources confirm similar stats, as Sullivan reports on his blog post. He also contrasts this reporting period February 2007 with the previous month.
Congratulations Google! Other search engines: You can do it! Stay in the race.
